EXTRUDER & INJECTION BARRELS
Extruder and injection molding barrels are both manufatured at our factory with very different specifications with Nitrided and Bimetallic execution. We also provide feeding section, bimetallic liner and water jacket separately.Through years of developing, we have supplied barrels for various machines like Battenfeld, Krauss Maffei, Cincinnati, Haitian, Chenhsong, Engel etc.
Nitrided barrels
Nitrided barrels are for general purpose application, well Nitrided and polished to the request specification. It is widely used for pure plastics like PE, PP, ABS, PLA processing. Nitrding is a heat treatment process. The longest barrels we could produce in our Nitriding furnace is 9000mm. A testing piece will be put together with barrels, the testing piece will be used to check the nitriding quality and issue our Metallographic Report for our Nitrided Barrels.
Bimetallic barrels
Bimetallic barrels are providing a longer service time, applied for processing material requesting more wear and corrosion resistance, such as
PVC with CaCo3
Recycled HDPE
LDPE with Mg(OH)2
Nylon with glass fiber
A bimetallic barrel starts with a steel tube. The tube is filled with alloy powder (different kinds available), the steel tube is then heated in a furnace. The heat melts the metal powder. The metallic melt is evenly distributed by centrifugal casting. After this process, the barrel is made to the correct bore, outer diameter and other dimensions according to the drawing.
To apply different processing material, we have several kinds of alloy available:
